L'usine Cerámica Suro a commencé à Tlaquepaque en 1951. C'est à partir des années 90 que Luis Miguel et José Noé Suro ont commencé à travailler main dans la main avec des artistes visuels pour produire des pièces dont les solutions formelles sont appréciées pour maintenir et suivre les techniques céramiques traditionnelles. innovant et intégrant d'autres métiers en plus de la poterie. Appréciant la riche variété d'ateliers de la région, ils se sont aventurés dans l'utilisation de matériaux aussi divers que le bronze, l'aluminium, la fibre de verre, le verre soufflé, le bois, l'acier, entre autres. Ce travail collaboratif a eu diverses destinations dans différents musées et collections dans divers pays ; en parallèle, il a constitué sa propre collection d'art contemporain.

L'œuvre History of Suspended Time (A monument for the impossible) de Gonzalo Lebrija est présentée sur le terrain situé en face de notre campus principal et restera sur place pendant un an. Dans cette œuvre, une voiture semble défier la gravité et le temps, comme si elle était suspendue au-dessus d'un bassin d’eau d'environ 12 mètres de diamètre.

Patricia Marshall, qui a joué un rôle important dans la formation de la collection Jumex, organise l’exposition Al filo de la navaja axée autour de quatre grands thèmes : la migration et la liberté, le corps humain, son environnement et enfin le cours du temps.

Cathedral

"Cathedral," artist Gonzalo Lebrija presents a new body of work in dialogue with past projects, offering the visitor a generous range of his projects from 2003 to the present.

For his exhibition at Museo Tamayo, Gonzalo Lebrija show pieces of his project Vía Láctea (Milkiway, 2016-17), for which he recoded and photographed a group of smokers in Havana while they were smoking tobacco of Vegas Robaina’s most selective production. With a beam of light that emphasizes the cigarette smoke, Lebrija depicts the changing shapes that the cuffs produce while exploring the sociopolitical relations that can be born from smoking, both from the juxtaposition between the characters and the legendary tobacco house, and from the smoker image itself as a figure that suggests power.

Exposition inaugurale - Sea of Desire
L’exposition est conçue comme un voyage guidé par le fil du désir, qu’il faut suivre pour se perdre, dès le premier escalier qui vous emmène sous la surface. Artistes en « rébellion » se répondent d’un siècle et d’un support à l’autre, au long des huit chapitres qui structurent le parcours, de « Pop Icons Reloaded » à « Brave New World Revisited » : Sandro Botticelli, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter et Jean Michel Basquiat, avec d’autres artistes plus jeunes, dont les voix émergent avec force.
